For more Information: [email protected]
These training videos will equip you to help children, teens, and their families with Attachment, Trauma, and Loss Issues—with adaptations for clients with Neurodiversity and/or Executive Dysfunction.
Each topic area gives practical therapy knowledge that is grounded in research. Practice information includes:
- How do I assess attachment?
- Once assessed, what are the specifics necessary to move towards secure attachments?
- What are body-based techniques that create attachment possibilities?
- What does therapy look like when I am treating children for attachment problems and their parents are in the room?
- What are strategies for behavior issues that are rooted in traumas and attachment loss?
- How do I adapt therapy for children with executive dysfunction, sensory issues, and/or neurodiversity.
- How do I keep parents nurturing towards children while they use structure and behavioral strategies?
- How do I include parents in a comprehensive approach in treating children and teens who were sexually abused?
- How to deal with my own countertransference or exhaustion?
- When children must move between families, how should I create an attachment-informed move schedule? What are the preferred time frames and tasks?
- How should I arrange the tasks of therapy in a comprehensive treatment plan that is evidence-based?
- How do I create a visual treatment plan with children that helps them to understand and buy-into therapy?
- How do I include body-based techniques and sensory integration strategies?
The modules include guidance for children or teens who were fostered or adopted after significant maltreatment. The videos are enlivened through interviews with parent experts, Kristin and David Berry, Honestly Adoption, who share their struggles and insights.
The modules can be taken individually. Completing all modules will be rewarded with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Attachment/Trauma-Focused Therapy.
An indexed Notebook is included. It gives concise, topic specific information useful for handouts or reference.
